EcoSecurities, in partnership with the Development Bank of Rwanda (BRD) PLC, invites stakeholders to participate in the Local Stakeholder Consultation (LSC) for the development of the Rwanda E-Mobility Carbon Credit Program.

The program aims to support the deployment of electric motorcycles and electric vehicles across Rwanda, alongside the expansion of charging infrastructure, in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and generate high-integrity carbon credits under the Verified Carbon Standard (Verra). The initiative contributes to Rwanda’s Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) targets and the operationalisation of Article 6 of the Paris Agreement.

During the consultation, participants will be introduced to the program’s objectives, activities, scale, implementation approach, and expected economic, social, and environmental impacts.

Stakeholders who may be directly or indirectly affected by the program, including representatives from the transport sector, local communities, public institutions, and private sector actors, are encouraged to attend and share their feedback.

Participants will also have the opportunity to provide comments during the session and for up to 30 days following the consultation through the designated communication channels.
