RSWE Local Stakeholder Consultation – Round 2
The Red Sea Wind Energy project is a wind farm in the Gulf of Suez, Egypt. The project was originally conceived and listed with the Gold Standard Registry as a 500 MW farm. The first stakeholder consultation meeting took place on 7 March 2024 in the Ras Ghareb City Hall when the project was under construction. In 2024, the Egyptian government approved a 150 extension of the Red Sea Wind Energy Project. As a result, the project has a revised capacity of 650 MW. Also in 2024, the farm began its initial commercial operation phase, at around 40% capacity. RSWE is holding a second consultation round on 24 February 2025 to announce these events and implications for the carbon project.
