Emerging almost 30 years ago, before the Kyoto Protocol, EcoSecurities has forged a path towards a more sustainable future. Pablo Fernandez

Chief Executive Officer

Pablo has over 20 years of international experience in climate policy, carbon markets and climate finance. He worked for Mercuria Energy Trading, a Swiss company based in Geneva from 2011 to 2017, where he was responsible for the day-to-day CDM project portfolio management. In 2017 Pablo joined ecosecurities as one of the main Partners and the Managing Director working on multiple initiatives related to Climate Policy, Climate Finance and CDM project development. Pablo holds an M.Sc. in Energy and Environmental Planning and an MBA from Business School Lausanne (BSL), Switzerland.

Jose Tumkaya

Chief Financial Officer

Jose is a Climate finance advisor with over 20 years of corporate finance, strategic M&A, and direct operating experience in environmental commodities within physical trading, investment banking, and startup organizations, having acted as Chief Operating Officer of JP Morgan affiliated companies and later as Investment Director at Mercuria Energy Trading –managed and acted as a key team member in deals amounting over 1billion USD. Jose Holds a BSc in Economics (Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania) and a joint global executive MBA (Columbia Business School / London Business School).

Hoda AbdelRaouf

Head of People & Operations

Hoda is an experienced operations professional with over 10 years of experience across several industries, including tech. She has experience in executing firm-wide projects and strategic initiatives with great experience in startups in Europe. She is responsible for People and Operations department at ecosecurities. Hoda oversee and develop the company’s human resources department which includes talent acquisition, compensation, employee relations, as well as performance management. She is responsible for the HR strategy for ecosecurities ensuring it supports the achievement of the company’s goals and objectives. Hoda holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from The American University in Cairo and an MBA from Imperial College London.

Chris Lisboa

Head of Finance

Chris has over 18 years of experience in Operations Financial Management and Strategic Planning in multinational companies in mining (commodities), steel mill and beverage sectors. She has an extensive experience and exposure working within multi-cultural environments and teams from her previous works in South Africa and Europe. Chris hold an MBA in Finance at IBMEC (Rio de Janeiro – BR), BSc in Corporate Management at UNEB (Salvador – BR) and a premium for her project “Electricity time of use initiatives at Waterval Smelters” at GIBS (Johannesburg – ZA).
Rachel Mountain

Head of Marketing

Rachel has 15+ years’ of marketing and communications experience focused on climate and sustainable finance, clean energy and sustainable land use. She is currently Head of Marketing for EcoSecurities.

Before joining EcoSecurities, Rachel was Director of Global Marketing for Ohmium, ranked one of America’s top GreenTech Companies where she was responsible for the company’s global marketing strategy. Prior to this, she spent 5 years as Head of Marketing for Ethex and Energise Africa – 2 of the UK’s largest impact investing platforms where she was responsible for marketing, driving investor growth, fundraising and product innovation which resulted in the mobilisation of $250 million of investment for sustainable businesses and a UN Global Climate Finance award.

She holds a MA (Hons) in Business and Marketing from Heriot-Watt University and a Diploma in Marketing with the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
Rodrigo Ferreira

Head of Government Affairs

Rodrigo has over 17 years in driving sustainability programs, in the fields of climate policy, E&S, bioeconomy, project and portfolio management and many others. Before joining ecosecurities Rodrigo worked 12 years as a Carbon Project Coordinator and organized Brazil’s Financial Innovation Lab involving 300 stakeholders and 1’000 members. Rodrigo holds an MBA in Business Administration from the Funduçao Dom Cabral.
Bernardo Mattar

Head of Structuring

Bernardo is a C-Level Finance and Strategy professional with almost 20 years of experience in the finance sector, specializing in corporate finance, structured finance, strategy, financial planning and valuation. Bernardo has worked in various senior roles, including CFO at Nacala Logistics Mozambique and Corporate Finance Manager at Vale, where he focused on structured finance, M&A and developing efficient funding structures. His expertise lies in developing complex business and financial structures, long-term business strategy, and valuation assessment. He holds a Master’s degree in Finance from CIFF Business School (Spain), an MBA from PUC-RJ(Brazil), and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from UFRJ (Brazil).
Selin Murat

Head of Commercial, Europe

Selin has over 13 years of experience in the energy industry spanning from multinational oil and gas corporates to cleantech ventures, with a strong background in commercial strategy, deal origination, and business development. Her expertise includes low-carbon products such as CCUS, biofuels, and LPG, alongside traditional downstream operations like lubricants and mobility services, providing a broad perspective on the energy industry and climate tech space. Selin studied manufacturing systems engineering and holds an MBA from London Business School.
Chris Smith

Head of Technical Services

Chris Smith is a seasoned REDD+/Natural Climate Solutions expert with over 10 years of experience in developing and implementing REDD+ projects, from design to credit issuance. He has worked on UNFCCC REDD+ programs and jurisdictional nested REDD+, contributing to strategy, risk management, and large multidisciplinary projects.

Currently, he focuses on assessing project feasibility and negotiating development agreements. He provides policy advice, collaborates with governments, and has deep knowledge of standards like VCS, Verra’s JNR, CCBS, and UNFCCC REDD+ requirements. Chris also has experience in emission reduction projects, including reforestation, blue carbon, and avoided deforestation, with a background in accounting, auditing, and sustainable business development.
Peter Simiyu

Regional Director, Africa

Peter Simiyu is a seasoned expert with over 15 years of experience in Agroecology, Sustainable Agriculture, and Climate Smart Agriculture. He has a proven track record in developing and managing climate-related projects within the private sector. Peter has held key roles in Business Development, Marketing, and Sales across various organizations, driving growth and fostering innovation in sustainability.

Throughout his career, Peter has actively contributed to numerous multi-stakeholder initiatives and roundtable discussions, including those focused on Clean Cooking and Climate Smart Agriculture. His work has been instrumental in advancing sustainable practices and addressing climate challenges across diverse sectors.

Peter holds a Bachelor of Science in Sustainable Agricultural Sciences and has completed postgraduate studies in Strategic Marketing, further enriching his expertise in aligning sustainability with strategic business development.
Peter Stephen

Regional Director, APAC

Peter has over 25 years of experience in nature-based solutions focused on agroforestry, community forestry, tropical forest conservation and climate financing. He is currently the ecosecurities Regional Director for Asia-Pacific region and has worked extensively across the region having worked on REDD+ policy and projects in Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Vietnam, Laos, and Thailand and was a regional expert on community livelihoods, community-based natural resource management and conflict management and mediation. He has held senior leadership roles for The Nature Conservancy and Greening Australia and worked as a consultant for institutions such as the World Bank, USAID, and the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Peter holds a Master in Forest Science and a Master of International and Community Development.
Mariama Vendramini

Regional Director, Brazil

Mariama is Ecosecurities’ Director for Brazil. Previously, she was an investment executive at a private equity fund, was a partner consultant, and Financial Director at different investment companies, where she developed experience in sustainability and climate finance for almost seven years. She began her career in the financial market, working with corporate finance and fund management at institutions such as Credit Agricole and Itaú Unibanco.

Mariama is an administrator who graduated from FGV-EAESP, has an MBA in Sustainability also from FGV, integrating the 2016 class of the Kinship Fellows Program. She also holds an MBA from IESE Business School.
Francisco Ocampo

Regional Director, Cono-Sur

Currently serving as the Director for EcoSecurities in the Southern Cone Region of Latin America, Francisco Ocampo brings over twenty years of experience in the carbon market. He has been involved in the management, coordination, and development of projects across various sectors and countries in the region.

Throughout his career, he has led projects in forestry, waste management, wastewater management, energy efficiency, and renewable energy, among others. He also has experience in calculating institutional GHG inventories and conducting carbon life cycle analyses for top-tier companies.
In addition to his expertise in GHG emissions management, Francisco is experienced in sustainable business strategy, including water resource management, energy management, waste management, and stakeholder engagement.

Ariel Perez

Board Member, Hartree Partners

With over a decade of experience trading, investing, and managing risk in environmental markets, Ariel is passionate about leveraging market-based mechanisms to address the climate crisis. He joined Hartree in 2015 to set up and lead the Environmental Produces business. Prior to this, he was Managing Partner at Mercuria and Global Head of Emissions Trading for Citigroup in London.
Moohwan Kim

Board Member, SK Inc.

Moohwan Kim is the Executive Vice President of the Green Investment Division at SK Inc., one of the largest conglomerates in Korea. In this role, he oversees the strategic planning, execution, and management of green investment projects across various sectors and regions, leveraging his expertise in online marketing, business management, and sustainability.

Previously, Moohwan was the Vice President of Corporate Development at SK Global Development Group and SK Telecom Americas, where he was responsible for identifying, evaluating, and partnering with early-stage startups and innovative companies that aligned with SK’s vision and goals.

Moohwan holds a bachelor’s degree in cultural anthropology from Seoul National University and has exchange student experience in Japanese studies from Hokkaido University. He is fluent in Korean, English, and Japanese.
Pedro Moura Costa

Board Member, SIM & BVRio

Pedro, with over 25 years of experience in environmental finance, is the founder and CEO of Sustainable Investment Management, offering advisory services in green and social impact investments. He also founded BVRio Environmental Exchange, developing market mechanisms for environmental compliance and sustainable trade. Pedro serves on the steering committees of VCMI and PREVENT Waste Alliance, focusing on circular economy and waste management. As a Business Fellow and honorary research associate at Oxford University, he collaborates on climate and sustainability research, and has contributed to the IPCC and various publications on environmental markets.
